Huish Woods

The perfect location for an activity day or a full week of adventure, with excellent facilities available all year round. Huish Woods is open to all Scout, Guide, School and Youth groups, whether it be for a small group to a large-scale camp of 1,500+ people.

Welcome to Huish Woods

Huish Woods Campsite is situated at the edge of the Blackdown Hills 7 miles from the county town of Taunton on the A358. It is a Scout Camp site owned and managed by Blackdown District Scout Council.

Huish Woods welcomes Scouts, Guides, schools, youth groups and community organisations as well as to public services and corporate groups for training and conferences. Huish Woods can also be used as a base for those on Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions.

Our experienced team are always on hand to assist you through the design, booking and delivery of your programme.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
