Campsite Facilities

First Aid

All accidents must be recorded by the Camp Leader or Camp First Aider. If an ambulance is called, the site office must be notified.

Open Fires

Please light fires only on in the designated areas. We only allow Alter fires to be used on site. We have two designated areas for Camp Fires and we would ask that all are invited when one is held.
We also have an area for ground fires – please ask at the office. Please note if you wish to use Alter Fires you will need to supply your own. Please ask the manager for details. Ash must not be thrown into the hedges or surrounding woodland, contact a member of staff who will advise you on what to do with it.

Fire Wood

There is a limited amount of wood on the wood pile – please do not burn needlessly. Please do not collect wood from the woodland as we have a management and conservation plan in operation. Saws, axes and knifes must not be taken into the woods and all cutting and chopping of wood must be done on your site in a designated area.

Dogs

No dogs allowed on site, except guide dogs.

Toilets and Showers

Available to all on site. There are toilets and a shower block situated behind the Govett hall and toilets on the Beacon Field. There are also two fully equipped disabled toilets on site. There is an Elson disposal point inside the toilet block on the Beacon field – please do not put any chemicals into the Elson.

Site Security

Please do not be offended if you are stopped on site and asked to confirm which group you are with. This is to ensure the security of the site and visitors.

Water Points

There are three water points on the Beacon Field and three on the Group Site areas. All water is metered so please use sensibly and make sure that all taps are turned off. Water fights should be strictly controlled by leaders and permission must be obtained from the site office before they commence.

Please use the car parks provided. No vehicles to drive on to the Beacon Field without permission from the site office and then for unloading only, no parking allowed. Vehicles and Contents left at the Owners Risk. Please note there is a 5 MPH speed limit on site. The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
