Date: 29th Feb 2020 Author: Jess Morgan

This is an amazing opportunity for Explorers and Network members to complete their Gold DofE Residential during ‘Busy Week’ at Huish Woods Scout Campsite in Taunton. Monday 27th – Friday 31st July 2020.

Through the week, you will experience what it is like to run a campsite and will be involved in looking after visiting groups, campsite maintenance, planning and running activities (including an open evening for local Scouts) as well as taking part in some activities yourself. You will be creating your own menu for the week and will cook as a team. £80 – the cost will include all the food and activities.

Open to any Explorers, Young Leaders and Network members. If you are interested, please email dofe-residential@blackdownscouts.org.uk.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
