Festive Fun @ Huish Woods

We look forward to welcoming you to our first ‘Festive Fun @ Huish Woods’. Follow our Festive Trail and discover the wintery delights of Huish Woods at the most magical time of the year. Look out for the mischievous Elves and maybe catch a glimpse of the jolly ‘man in red’ himself.

We are now sold out! We can’t wait to see all of you who have tickets at Festive Fun @ Huish Woods.

Dates and Times

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December

What you’ll need to bring

We will provide an activity sheet to write down all the ‘hidden’ letters and a few extra fun things you will find along the way. Don’t forget a pen or pencil and something to lean on; we will have some pencils for sale ‘just in case’.

Please wear warm clothing and footwear (wellies or walking boots are best) as the trail is likely to be wet and muddy. But please do not forget to wear your festive outfits, the brighter the better and lots of sparkle!

If you are coming to one of our late afternoon sessions it will be starting to get dark towards the end of the trail, so please bring a torch or even a lantern.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted at Huish Woods on this occasion; so please leave them at home in the warm and dry.

Huish Woods have hand sanitiser stations located throughout the site for your use, but please do bring your own too.

Refreshments will be available to purchase, but please feel free to bring your own food and drinks. Facilities are available, but we encourage you to please ‘go’ before you arrive!

Giving something back

At this time of year and particularly this year many people are finding things difficult, so we thought we would try and bring a little Christmas cheer to those less fortunate than ourselves. We will be collecting for the Taunton Foodbank, West Hatch RSPCA and St Giles Animal Rescue; if you are able and would like to bring a donation along, we will make sure it gets where it needs to go.

Your child can also bring along a Letter for Father Christmas and leave it with our trusty Elves (replies might be a bit beyond our powers this year as the jolly ‘man in red’ is a bit busier than usual as many of his Elves are ‘Elf-Isolating’).

Please note and understand that we are only able to run 1 hour and 45 minute slots to allow us time for cleaning. We kindly ask that you arrive and leave within 15 mins either side of your time slot and remain in your bubbles in line with the current Government Advice. Please remember to remain socially distant whilst at Huish Woods but please park considerately. Use hand sanitiser and wear a face mask where required.

After you’ve enjoyed our Festive Trail please stay a while and enjoy some refreshments, and of course visit our shop for a pre-Christmas treat (we promise it will be full of lots of lovely gifts ideal for Christmas).

Huish Woods will have access to your booking information for Track & Trace purposes, but this will be deleted 21 days after your visit. We hope you understand this is to ensure the safety of all. Huish Woods display a Venue Check-in NHS Test & Trace QR Code throughout the site please ensure you scan one of these upon arrival if you have the technology.

This event is subject to the Government’s latest national guidelines. If at the time of the event it is not deemed safe to continue, full refunds will be issued to everybody who has purchased a ticket. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience. Due to high demand, we will be unable to offer refunds to those who have purchased tickets but choose not to attend.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
